Motion (follows) from the Graduate Directorate and BOGS - At some point during their graduate programmes, all MSc students are required to do one of the following and all PhD students two of the following: oral presentation at the Lett Conference, poster presentation at the Lett Conference, full FISH seminar talk, department seminar.

  6. Motion (follows) from the Graduate Admissions Committee, presented by Daniel Ruzzante (Chair, Graduate Admissions Committee) – That the graduate student stipend is increased by $2,000.00 per year from an annual take home amount of $10,000.00 to $12,000.00 and from $11,000.00 to $13,000.00 for A- students. For A- students, 50% of the increase will come from A- funds and 50% will come from the supervisor’s funds. Rationale: Graduate student take home amount has not been increased since 2005-2006.

  7. Motion (follows) from the Curriculum Committee, presented by Elizabeth Welsh – A MINOR in Biology will include a minimum of three (3) credits and a  maximum of six (6) credits above the 1000 level in Biology. A 15 credit BA or BSC with a minor in Biology will include a minimum of three (3) credits and a maximum of six (6) credits above the 1000 level in Biology.

  8. Replacement of wall “decorations” in the second floor hallway. Paul Bentzen has requested that we discuss the wall “decorations”, most notably the atrocious Audubon bird prints and the possibility of replacing them with something better.
